Why hello again. Now that you have explored a few issues that others are passionate about, it's time to start our project! After you feel comfortable with the terms and concepts on the "Task" page, feel free to continue with the process below.

Let's Get Making.

Identity Work

After viewing artist who are working with issues they are concerned about, let's start reflecting on our own lives. What are you passionate about?

To get you thinking about what you are concerned about, answer these questions before we move further.

  • What sort of social, political, economical, and environmental issues can you think of?
  • Do you feel strongly about a problem that persists in your school, community, country, or planet?
  • What does that problem look like? Can you imagine what it would look like if the problem no longer existed?
  • Think of at least three issues you could see yourself helping out. It could be anywhere from anti-bullying, to recycling, to healthy eating, or even animal activism.

Get Sketching

Once you have narrowed down the topics you are interested in, go ahead and choose one and start sketching how you may convey your idea.

Don't worry, this doesn't have to be permanent. You'll find your sketch-up will change as you look through your resources for available images.

Once you have a preliminary sketch it's time to get cutting! Grab a few magazines and start collecting images to want to use for your awareness poster.

Use the concepts that we learned as guidance for assembling your collage. Culture-Jamming and Juxtapositioning can be powerful tools to make a strong point.
